Bird Treatment & Learning Center – Live Bird Demonstration with Hawk Owl & Song Birds

Join the Bird TLC volunteers as they give an educational presentation about Ulu, a hawk owl, and six song birds. Q&A time will follow the presentation.

BJU Press/Homeworks by Precept – “Help – I’m Going to Start Homeschooling!”

Now that I am finishing my final year of 19 years homeschooling, I would like to share practical helps to aid new home school families get off to a good start. I have a unique perspective on home schooling because I was home schooled in the 1960s and 70′s when there were no helps nor encouragement for families to home school. For the new home schooling family, it can be overwhelming to see so many choices and differing philosophies of home education, so I will share some of the things I learned the hard way. We will explore the different styles of learning preferences and the many choices and ways to home school. We will discuss the pros and cons of using a traditional curriculum, have a question and answer session at the end.

Real Science-4-Kids – How to Teach Kids the ABCs of Science while “Playing” Like Einstein

Learning content is important. Kids need to know about atoms and the difference between force, energy, and work. But learning content covers only one aspect of doing real science. Dr. Keller will discuss the difference between explicit and tacit education and will show you how to help your kids have fun learning the ABCs of science while learning to think and “play” like Einstein.
